Self-employed and worried about Health & Safety?

This applies health and safety law only to a self-employed person who is listed in one of the schedules attached to the Act or “where not listed in the schedule, may pose a risk to the health and safety of another person (other than the self-employed person carrying it out or their employees)”.

The Health and Safety Executive estimate that this will remove about 1.7m self-employed people- such as novelists, journalists, graphic designers, accountants, confectioners, financial advisers and online traders- from this legislation. Further guidance is available on the HSE website.
