Whistleblowing Policy

This is being highlighted in tribunals recently with the number of cases being taken to tribunal increasing 14 fold since the abolition of the tribunal fees.

As a whistleblower, you’re protected by law if you report any of the following:

  • a criminal offence, eg fraud
  • someone’s health and safety as being in danger
  • risk or actual damage to the environment
  • a miscarriage of justice
  • the company is breaking the law
  • you believe someone is covering up wrongdoing

Personal grievances such as bullying, harassment and discrimination aren’t covered by whistleblowing law, unless your particular case is in the public interest.

It’s best to speak to your lawyer for more information.
